BWB – Kick-off meeting

The first meeting of the “BWB – Breaking Weight Bias” project took place on the 24th of February 2021. The project partners, due to the current situation, met online, and discussed all project activities.

The partners carefully reviewed the dissemination plan, quality plan, and agreed on activity reporting issues. In the next part we discussed in detail the intellectual outputs action plan:

  • IO1 – The Breaking Weight Bias training course
  • IO2 – Dynamic Demonstrator

The project will be developing a complete innovative set of training material. The main project aim is to raise awareness among health professionals about the harmful impact of weight bias as well as to make clear that treatment of obesity is more complex than the advice of ‘eat less-move more’ so that they will be able to promote healthy behaviours without harming. The Breaking Weight Bias training course will equip health providers with the right methodological tools to approach and treat people affected by obesity with understanding, empathy, and respect and to support them in improving their mental and physical well-being. The project is also aspiring to build an international network to co-create, evaluate, and help promote the Breaking Weight Bias training material to the healthcare systems and professionals all over Europe.
