Project description
The total business plant project aimed to transfer knowledge and innovation to rural people as well as to young holders of University degree’s who wanted to stay in rural communities and to do business in the agricultural field.
The Total Business project was specially designed for farmers, habitants of rural areas, farmers associations, small local enterprises, etc. and any other who would like to increase its income by cultivating or shelling medicinal plants. The Total Business Project provided a competence based training programme, composed of different modules, concerning total management of aromatic & therapeutic plants cultivation and handling.
To this end, the following specific objectives were pursued:
- analysis of national case studies overviewing target groups’ needs in rural sectors;
- development of a Total Business Plants Interactive Web Platform, covering e-learning course and open learning resources;
- designing an innovative VET training programme covering comprehensive information on therapeutic use of aromatic & therapeutic plants, as well as business aspects of managing medicinal plants cultivation;
- creation of an Online Encyclopedia with relevant information on specific plants.
