Project description
Aggression and violence toward medical staff are a serious issue in health care, where safety of both patients and staff to be protected. Interaction is an important factor in the occurrence of aggression, especially communication in general between staff and patients. Poor communication between staff and patients and a perceived lack of empathy, respect and distance or a lack of shared decision are among the reasons leading to violence.
Simulation provides health care students with opportunities to practice their clinical and decision-making skills through various real-life situational experiences. The project will provide our group of teachers and students with simulation package tools; selected simulation scenarios with real actors to help increasing their ability to cope with this violent healthcare environment and foster a safe environment for patients and staff.
Target group
Our targets group are nursing and paramedic students and their teachers, staff in health organisations, organization dealing with the safety of healthcare workers.
Project results
The main results of the project will be the creation of:
- The packages of various simulation scenarios for teachers and students of nursing and paramedic students on an elearning platform,
- Manual for Train the Trainers for teachers of nursing and paramedic students for simulation education,
- A train the trainer course for supporting teachers who are responsible for education nursing and paramedic programmes.
