The goal is to establish new or upgrade existing value chains that contribute to the resilience and sustainability of mountain areas in the face of climate change.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The project will focus on protecting, restoring, and promoting the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably managing forests, combating desertification, halting and reversing land degradation, and addressing biodiversity loss. Additionally, it will adapt vocational education and training to labor market needs, promote youth entrepreneurship, including social entrepreneurship and active citizenship, and support young people&#8217;s volunteering initiatives in the fight against climate change and environmental sustainability.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Target group<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The target stakeholders of the PeakED project include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Young environmental scientists<\/li>\n<li>Youth associations and social enterprises<\/li>\n<li>Future professionals in natural resources or tourism sectors<\/li>\n<li>Policymakers and public institutions<\/li>\n<li>Financial institutions and private sector organizations<\/li>\n<li>Mainstream media and climate influencers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Project results<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The main results of the project will be the creation of:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Study Cases and Toolkit<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Development of a training programme to promote environmental protection and future development of mountain areas. The training programme will contribute to the acquisition and improvement of the skills of groups of young people living there needed to adapt to the changes and digital challenges of the green economy in the field of tourism.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Green Innovation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This outcome will develop a new generation of policy and strategy for mountain areas. Support from tourism experts will help identify the role that tourism can play in appreciating the natural and spiritual heritage of the mountains and the cultural diversity and traditions of mountain peoples.
